Knotted wire cups provide more aggressive cutting action and are suited to heavy rust removal and weld cleaning. Crimped wire cups are less aggressive and suit lighter cleaning and surface finishing work. Match the thread size to your grinder's spindle — M14 is standard for most 115 mm and 125 mm angle grinders. Check the wire diameter: heavier wire cuts more aggressively; finer wire provides a more uniform finish.
