Typhoon 70350 Tap and Die Set, 110 Piece, 35 Threads

The Typhoon Tools 70350 is a 110 piece tap and die set for cutting and repairing threads. A tap cuts or cleans a thread inside a hole. A die does the same on the outside of a bolt or rod. This set covers 35 thread sizes in metric, UNC, UNF, UNS and NPT, so it handles both metric and imperial work.

A quick guide to the thread names. Metric threads are the M sizes, so M6x1.0 is 6mm across with a pitch (the gap between threads) of 1.0mm. UNC is the coarse imperial thread and UNF is the fine imperial thread. UNS is a special-purpose imperial thread and NPT is the tapered pipe thread. The set has 9 metric, 12 UNC, 10 UNF, 2 UNS and 2 NPT sizes. Check your thread size against the sizes the set covers before you buy.
