Mitutoyo 530-118 Vernier Caliper, 200mm/8", 0.02mm

The Mitutoyo Series 530 is a standard vernier caliper for toolrooms, workshops, inspection benches and apprentices. It measures outside diameter, inside diameter, depth and steps. The main scale and vernier scale are satin chrome, which makes them easy to read, and the sliding surfaces are raised.

There are three sizes: 150mm/6", 200mm/8" and 300mm/12". Each size comes in two versions. The standard version reads to 0.05mm on the metric scale and 1/128" on the inch scale. The high-accuracy version reads to 0.02mm and .001". Graduation is the smallest step on the scale. Accuracy is how close a reading is to the true size. They are different numbers, so check both. A vernier caliper has no screen and no battery. You read the whole number from the main scale and the fine part from the sliding vernier scale. Choose the high-accuracy version for tighter tolerances and the standard version for general workshop checks. If you want a fine-adjustment wheel, look at the Series 532. If you need long jaws, look at the Series 534.
