Aramid Construction — Why It Matters

Aramid cord is the key differentiator in the Predator belt. Unlike polyester, aramid has near-zero stretch under load — this means the belt maintains consistent tension from cold start through full operating temperature. On drives subject to frequent starts, shock loading, or abrupt reversals, this stability eliminates the tension fluctuations that accelerate bearing wear and sheave groove deterioration. Predator belts typically outlast standard V belts by two to three times on genuinely abusive applications.

Banded Construction for Drive Stability

The banded format ties multiple belt sections together into a single unit, preventing the turnover, vibration, and whipping that occurs when individual belts run at speed. For high-torque, multi-belt drives on heavy equipment, the banded Predator is the most reliable available solution. The tie band also protects against contamination from oil mist, dust, and moisture — common in mining, quarrying, and processing environments.
