P-Clips (Saddle Clips)

P-clips (also called P-clamps or saddle clips) are the most common single-cable fastener in industrial installations. A semi-circular clamp body — shaped like the letter P — bolts through a panel, frame, or structural member to hold a cable or hose in position. Available in rubber-lined and unlined versions: rubber-lined clips are used on smooth-jacketed cables to prevent chafing and reduce vibration transmission; unlined steel clips suit rigid conduit and pipe. Stainless steel P-clips are specified for marine and corrosive environments where carbon steel will corrode.

Saddle Clamps for Multiple Cables

Multi-cable saddle clamps hold bundles of cables or small-diameter pipes side by side along a run. The clamp plate bolts to the mounting surface and the cables seat in individual grooves — keeping them separated and preventing cross-chafe. Used extensively in control panels, cable trays, and machine wiring runs where maintaining cable identity is important for maintenance.

Adhesive Tie Mounts

Adhesive-backed tie mounts provide a quick cable tie anchor point on flat surfaces without drilling. The mount base is pressed onto a clean surface and a cable tie is threaded through the anchor eyelet. Suited to panel wiring, low-voltage installations, and environments where drilling is undesirable. The adhesive backing is available in standard and high-temperature grades — standard grade is suitable for ambient conditions; high-temperature grade is needed in engine bays, electrical panels, or anywhere sustained elevated temperatures occur.

Screw-Fix Tie Mounts

Screw-fix tie mounts provide a more permanent and robust anchor for cable tie fastening. A plastic or metal body with a central screw hole is fixed to the structure, and cable ties pass through the integrated strap slots. More reliable than adhesive mounts in high-vibration or outdoor applications where adhesive can debond over time.

Material Selection

Material selection for cable clamps should match the environment. Nylon clamps and mounts are appropriate for most indoor electrical and pneumatic installations. Stainless steel clips are required for marine environments, outdoor installations, and food processing where corrosion resistance is essential. For high-vibration applications — on mobile plant or machinery — steel clips with rubber liners absorb vibration and prevent cable jacket wear.
