Of the 69 AAP fittings, 16 are 316 stainless steel and 14 are galvanised, and the rest are black or plain carbon steel. Fitting sizes are listed on each product as variants.
Choosing a high pressure fitting
Match the connection first. NPT and BSPT are both taper pipe threads, but they have different pitches and thread angles, so a mismatched pair may tighten without sealing. Check the thread on the port you are connecting to, and if it is not marked, use a thread gauge. Taper threads need PTFE tape or thread sealant to seal. Socket weld and butt weld fittings are welded in, so the joint is only as good as the weld and should be made by a qualified welder to the right procedure.
Then choose the material. Black carbon steel suits indoor, sheltered service, galvanised suits outdoor exposure, and 316 stainless steel suits corrosive fluids and washdown. Choose the pressure rating against your system's maximum working pressure, including pressure spikes, not only the steady figure. The AAP fittings are listed as 3000lb, and the rating should also be checked against the marking on the fitting and the data sheet.

What high pressure fittings does AIMS list?
There are 75 active products: 69 AAP 3000lb and related pipe fittings, four Dixon BioPharm weld fittings and two Dixon ANFO loader spares. They cover couplings, nipples, elbows, tees, plugs, bushes, caps, unions, branch outlets and a reducing insert.
What is the difference between NPT and BSPT?
Both are taper pipe threads that seal by thread interference, but they use different pitches and thread angles. A mismatched pair may tighten without sealing, so match the thread on both sides of the joint.
Do I need tape or sealant on these fittings?
Yes on threaded fittings. Taper threads rely on tape or thread sealant to fill the leak path. Wind PTFE tape in the direction of the thread and stop short of the first thread, or use a thread sealant. See our thread sealants.
What is the difference between threaded and socket weld fittings?
Threaded fittings are screwed together and can be taken apart. Socket weld fittings take the pipe end in a socket and are welded in place for a permanent joint. Butt weld branch outlets are welded onto the run pipe to take off a branch line.
What materials are available?
Black carbon steel, galvanised steel and 316 stainless steel in the AAP range. Of the 69 AAP fittings, 16 are 316 stainless and 14 are galvanised.
What are the Dixon BioPharm fittings?

Are these hydraulic hose fittings?
