Ball Valves — Brass, Gas & Stainless Steel Ball Valves Australia

AIMS Industrial stocks 65+ ball valves from AAP — covering brass ball valves (male/female BSP), gas ball valves with T-handle, stainless steel lever ball valves, mini ball valves and bib cocks with locking lever in a range of sizes from 1/4" to 4". AAP ball valves are used for on/off flow control of water, gas, oil, air and general industrial fluids in plumbing, hydraulic, pneumatic and process piping systems across Australian industrial, commercial and agricultural applications.

Ball Valve Types We Stock

  • AAP Brass Ball Valve — Male/Female SS Lever: AAP standard brass ball valves with stainless steel lever handle in male BSP x female BSP configuration — the most widely used ball valve for water, compressed air and general-purpose fluid systems. Full-bore design for minimal pressure drop.
  • AAP Gas Ball Valve — Brass with T-Handle: AAP gas-rated brass ball valves with T-bar handle for LPG and natural gas isolation in commercial and industrial gas systems. T-handle design distinguishes gas valves visually and provides a positive open/closed indication — required by AS 5601 for gas installations.
  • AAP Mini Brass Ball Valve: AAP compact mini ball valves for instrument, sample and bypass piping where full-size valves are too large. Ideal for gauge connections, bleed points and secondary isolation in tight panel and skid installations.
  • AAP Brass Bib Cock with SS Locking Lever: AAP bib cock ball valves with stainless steel locking lever for applications where accidental valve operation must be prevented — chemical dosing systems, sample points and secondary process lines.
  • Female/Female Configuration: AAP female/female BSP ball valves for inline installation between two male-threaded fittings — a common configuration in process piping where the valve is installed between flanged or threaded pipe spools.
  • Size Range — 1/4" to 4": AAP brass and stainless ball valves are available across standard BSP sizes from 1/4" to 4". Confirm BSP thread size (not nominal pipe size) and material compatibility with your process fluid before ordering.

Ball Valve Selection Guide

  • Brass vs Stainless Steel: AAP brass ball valves are suitable for water, air, non-aggressive chemicals and LPG. Stainless steel ball valves are required for aggressive chemicals, food-grade systems, marine and corrosive process environments where brass dezincification or corrosion is a risk.
  • Gas vs Standard Service: Gas-rated AAP ball valves with T-handle are specifically tested and rated for gas service — they must not be substituted with standard water or air ball valves in gas installations. Gas valve selection must comply with AS 5601 and local gas authority requirements.
  • Full Bore vs Reduced Bore: Full-bore ball valves have a port diameter matching the pipe bore — minimising pressure drop and allowing pigging. Reduced-bore valves have a smaller port and are used where flow rate is less critical. AAP standard range is full-bore in most sizes.
  • Operating Pressure & Temperature: Confirm the valve's rated working pressure (WP) and temperature range against your system. AAP brass ball valves are rated to standard water and gas system pressures — confirm specifications for higher-pressure hydraulic or steam applications before selection.
