Choosing the right Norton abrasive
Match the abrasive to the material and the machine first. For wheels, check the diameter, thickness and bore against your grinder, and choose the grade and grit for the job: coarser grits remove material faster, finer grits leave a better finish. Wheels have a maximum operating speed marked on them that must not be exceeded. For sanding, the grit sets the finish, and our sandpaper grit guide is a good starting point.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the size, grade, bore and maximum speed suit your machine and material before use.

How do I choose a grinding wheel?
Check the diameter, thickness and bore against your grinder, then pick the grade and grit for the material and finish. Never exceed the maximum speed marked on the wheel.
What are toolroom grinding wheels?
Toolroom wheels in white aluminium oxide are listed in straight, recessed, straight cup, dish and saucer shapes and are used on tool and cutter grinding machines. Check the grade and shape against your machine.
Do you have Norton belts for file sanders and linishers?
Yes. We list Blaze and Norzon cloth belts, Powerfile belts for file sanders, and Metalite cloth belts and fixed machine belts. Check belt size against your machine.
What is BearTex?
