Our range covers two families of hand tool. Blind rivet guns (also called pop rivet guns) pull a mandrel through a tubular rivet to draw two sheets together and set a head on the blind side — the standard fastening method for sheet metal, panel and bracket work where you can only get to one side of the joint. Rivet nut tools (nutsert or blind nut tools) work the opposite way — they thread onto a rivet nut and collapse its body to anchor a load-bearing thread into thin material. Standard hand rivet guns
The Champion CBRG-1 Blind Rivet Hand Gun (200mm) and TTL BT106 Hand Riveter are the workhorse end of the range — lever-action pliers that cover the common 2.4 to 4.8 mm blind rivet diameters used across sheet metal and light fabrication. They come with interchangeable nosepieces so one tool handles a run of different rivet sizes; match the nosepiece to the rivet body you're setting.
Long-arm and aluminium-body riveters
The Champion CBRG-2 Long Arm Blind Rivet Gun adds extra arm length for more leverage — useful when you're pulling larger or harder rivets, or doing enough of them in a row that a standard hand gun starts to fatigue the wrist. Trax's aluminium-bodied guns — the ARX-LR22 (1/4"), ARX-HR01 (3/16") and its kit version ARX-HR01K, and the ARX-HR107 (8mm/1/4") — trade some of that leverage for a lighter tool body, which matters if you're setting rivets all day rather than the occasional job.

Choosing the right hand rivet tool
With everything in this range hand-operated, the real decision points are rivet size, how many you're pulling in a sitting, and how much reach or access you need. A standard hand gun covers the common 2.4–4.8 mm range and is the cheapest way into the job — fine for occasional work but it'll tire your hand on a long run. Step up to a long-arm gun such as the CBRG-2 when you need more leverage on bigger rivets or you're doing enough of them that mechanical advantage matters. If the tool is going to live in your hand for hours rather than minutes, the lighter aluminium-bodied Trax guns are worth the swap over a heavier steel-bodied tool. For rivet nuts, size the tool to the largest insert you'll commonly install — an M6 tool handles M3 and M4 inserts fine with the right mandrel, but a small tool won't generate enough force for a bigger one. Maintenance and spares
A hand rivet gun's main wear points are the jaws (the part that grips the mandrel) and the nosepiece. Keep the jaws free of swarf and spent mandrel fragments and they'll set thousands of rivets without trouble. Nosepieces are matched to rivet diameter — running the wrong one against a rivet it isn't sized for is the most common cause of a rivet not seating properly. What's the difference between a rivet gun and a rivet nut tool?
A rivet gun (blind rivet gun or pop rivet gun) grips a smooth mandrel and pulls it through a tubular rivet to set a head on the blind side. A rivet nut tool has a threaded mandrel that screws into a rivet nut (nutsert), then collapses the nut's body to anchor a threaded insert into thin material. They're not interchangeable — a rivet gun can't install a rivet nut, and vice versa.
What rivet sizes does a standard hand rivet gun handle?
Most standard hand rivet guns in our range, including the TTL BT106, cover blind rivets from 2.4 to 4.8 mm — the common diameters used in sheet metal and light fabrication. Interchangeable nosepieces match the tool to each rivet size.
When do I need a long-arm rivet gun instead of a standard one?

Can one gun install both pop rivets and rivet nuts?

Why does the nosepiece matter?
Each rivet diameter needs a matched nosepiece. Using the wrong size against a given rivet means it won't seat properly and can damage the rivet head. Standard hand rivet guns come with a set of nosepieces covering the common diameters — swap in the one that matches the rivet you're setting.
Is an aluminium-bodied rivet gun worth it over a steel one?
