• Goliath tap extractors — Goliath specialises in tap extractors (the TESET range) for removing broken taps from threaded holes — one of the most critical and difficult workshop recovery operations. Choosing the right tap & die set

• Thread standard — metric (M) threads are the Australian standard for new engineering and fabrication. BSP (British Standard Pipe) for pipe fittings and hydraulic connections. BSW and BSF threads appear in older machinery still in service. UNF (Unified National Fine) in imported equipment and aerospace. Match the tap and die set to the thread standard of the fasteners or components you're working with.
• Tap-only vs combination sets — tap-only sets cover internal thread cutting (nuts, holes) for workshops that primarily work with tapped holes. Combination tap and die sets cover both internal and external threading (bolts, studs) — the more versatile option for general workshop use.
