- Loctite 55 Pipe Sealing Cord: Loctite 55 is a pre-applied, fibre-reinforced sealing cord for sealing all types of threaded pipe connections. Applied by winding onto the male thread before assembly, Loctite 55 seals immediately on make-up and is compatible with metal and plastic pipe fittings in water, gas and compressed air systems.
- Loctite 5331 Hydraulic Thread Sealant: Anaerobic thread sealant designed for hydraulic and pneumatic fittings. Loctite 5331 seals and locks metal threaded connections against hydraulic fluid and pneumatic pressure, filling micro-gaps in thread form to prevent weeping and vibration loosening.
- Loctite 577 Medium Strength Thread Sealant: Anaerobic sealant for sealing and locking close-fitting threaded pipe and hydraulic connections. Medium-strength formulation allows disassembly with hand tools for maintenance and service applications.
- Anaerobic Thread Sealants vs. PTFE Tape: Anaerobic thread sealants cure in the thread gap to create a permanent, pressure-resistant seal that fills thread form irregularities. PTFE tape provides a mechanical seal but can shred into systems and does not lock threads against vibration loosening. Anaerobic sealants are preferred for hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
