19mm Sockets — Quick Reference
AIMS Industrial stocks 48 individual 19mm sockets and related 19mm items, drawn from our main Sockets range. 19mm is one of the most commonly needed metric socket sizes in Australian workshops — it's the standard across-flats size for an M12 hex bolt head, and close enough to 3/4" AF (19.05mm) that it's often used as the practical metric equivalent. Because 19mm sits right in the middle of the size range, it's stocked in every major drive size we carry, in standard, deep, impact and several specialist formats, from Ko-Ken, Stahlwille, Trax and Maxigear.
| Drive Size | 19mm Products Stocked | Formats Available | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3/8" Drive | 14 | Standard & deep (6-point/12-point), impact, Z Series, flex-head, nut grip | General workshop & automotive — the everyday default drive |
| 1/2" Drive | 16 | Standard, deep, impact & deep impact (6-point/12-point), inhex, impact inhex, thin wall | The single most common drive for a 19mm socket — automotive & maintenance work |
| 3/4" Drive | 10 | Standard, deep, impact & deep impact (6-point/12-point), inhex, rear wheel-nut, thin wall | Heavy truck, plant & wheel-nut work |
| 1" Drive | 2 | Impact & deep impact (6-point) | Heaviest-duty impact use — uncommon at 19mm, since most 1" drive ranges start around 21mm and up |
| Specialty (not drive-specific) | 6 | Flare nut, drain plug bit, wheel-nut socket, low-profile adaptor, impact spare ring | Fittings, wheel studs and impact socket servicing rather than general fastening |
Check before ordering: not every format is available in every drive size — a 19mm 1" drive socket, for instance, is only stocked as an impact or deep impact 6-point. Use the tables above as a starting guide, then confirm stock and format against the specific product listing, or contact our team if you're not sure which combination you need.
19mm Socket Drive Sizes We Stock
3/8" Drive — the everyday default
Our largest 19mm range by format variety. Ko-Ken supplies standard and deep sockets in both 6-point and 12-point, plus Z Series deep and semi-deep 6-point sockets and a dedicated 19mm impact socket in both point counts. Stahlwille contributes 12-point deep and standard 3/8" drive sockets, and Maxigear stocks a 3/8" square drive flex-head socket for angled access. Ko-Ken's 19mm nut grip socket is also 3/8" drive, built with a deeper internal bite for rounded or damaged nuts a standard socket can no longer turn.
1/2" Drive — the most common 19mm drive
The biggest single group in this collection. Ko-Ken's 1/2" drive 19mm range covers standard and deep sockets (6-point and 12-point), impact and deep impact sockets in both point counts, a thin-wall impact socket for restricted clearance, and both inhex and impact-rated inhex sockets. Stahlwille supplies a 1/2" drive Point HPQ socket and an extra-deep 1/2" drive socket, Trax stocks short and long impact sockets plus an impact-rated hex socket bit, and Ko-Ken's 19mm x 110mm long wheel-nut socket is also filed here for reaching recessed wheel studs.
3/4" Drive — heavy truck, plant & wheel work
Ko-Ken's 3/4" drive 19mm range includes standard and deep 12-point sockets, 6-point impact and deep impact sockets, a thin-wall impact socket, an inhex socket, and a dedicated rear wheel-nut impact socket. Stahlwille supplies a standard 3/4" drive socket, and Trax stocks a short chromium-vanadium 3/4" drive socket. 19mm on 3/4" drive is a genuinely useful combination for heavy vehicle wheel nuts and structural bolting where 1/2" drive doesn't have the torque capacity.
1" Drive — available, but uncommon at this size
Ko-Ken's 1" drive impact and deep impact 6-point socket ranges both extend down to 19mm, so we do carry it — but be aware that most 1" drive work is on much larger fasteners (the same two ranges run up to 90–95mm), and 1" drive tools are heavy and bulky for a 19mm fastener. Unless you're already running 1" drive impact gear for other sizes on the same job, 1/2" or 3/4" drive will usually be the more practical choice at 19mm.
19mm Socket Types & Formats
- 6-point vs 12-point: a 6-point socket contacts more of the fastener's flat face, giving maximum grip and the lowest risk of rounding — the better choice for stubborn or high-torque 19mm fasteners. A 12-point engages every 30°, useful where swing arc is limited.
- Standard vs deep: deep sockets reach over long studs, protruding bolts and recessed nuts; standard-length sockets suit everyday flush fastener work.
- Impact-rated (black finish): for pneumatic and electric impact wrenches only. Never fit a standard chrome 19mm socket to an impact tool — chrome sockets are harder and more brittle, and can crack or shatter under impact loading.
- Inhex & impact inhex: Ko-Ken's 19mm inhex sockets suit internal hex (Allen) socket-head fasteners at 1/2" and 3/4" drive, with an impact-rated inhex version also available in 1/2" drive.
- Flare nut socket: Ko-Ken's split-profile 19mm flare nut socket grips hexagonal fittings on brake, fuel and hydraulic lines without rounding the fitting — for use where an open-ended spanner can't get enough purchase or a solid socket won't fit over the line.
- Nut grip socket: a 3/8" drive Ko-Ken socket with a deeper internal bite, built to turn rounded, rusted or otherwise damaged 19mm nuts that a standard socket can no longer grip.
- Wheel-nut socket: Ko-Ken's 19mm x 110mm long wheel-nut socket (part no. KO4300M-L110/19) is built to reach wheel studs set back behind the rim.
- Flex-head & low-profile adaptor: Maxigear's 3/8" drive flex-head socket pivots for angled access, and Ko-Ken's low-profile adaptor socket steps between drive sizes in a slimmer profile than a standard adaptor.

People Also Ask — 19mm Sockets
Q: What drive size does a 19mm socket come in?
At AIMS, 19mm sockets are stocked in 3/8", 1/2", 3/4" and 1" drive. 1/2" drive is the most common and has the widest range of formats; 1" drive is available but uncommon at this size, since most 1" drive ranges are built for much larger fasteners.
Q: Is 19mm the same as 3/4 inch?
Near enough. 3/4" AF (across flats) equals 19.05mm, so a 19mm metric socket is the standard practical substitute for a 3/4" imperial fastener. 19mm is also the standard across-flats size for an M12 hex bolt head.
Q: Is 19mm the same size as 13/16"?
No. 13/16" equals 20.6mm, which is closer to a 20mm or 21mm socket than a 19mm one. Don't substitute a 13/16" imperial socket for a 19mm metric socket — the fit will be loose enough to round the fastener.
Q: Is 19mm a 3/8" drive socket?
These are two different measurements, not the same thing. 3/8" refers to the square drive — the tang that connects the socket to your ratchet, breaker bar or impact wrench. 19mm refers to the socket's fastener size (the across-flats measurement). AIMS stocks 19mm sockets in 3/8" drive as well as 1/2", 3/4" and 1" drive — the fastener size and the drive size are chosen independently to suit the job and the tool you're using.
Q: Can I use a 19mm socket on an impact wrench?
Only if it's an impact-rated (black finish) socket. Standard chrome 19mm sockets are harder and more brittle, and can crack or shatter under the shock loading of a pneumatic or electric impact wrench. AIMS stocks dedicated impact and deep impact 19mm sockets in 1/2", 3/4" and 1" drive for exactly this use.
Q: What's a 19mm nut grip or flare nut socket used for?
A nut grip socket has a deeper internal bite designed to turn rounded, rusted or otherwise damaged 19mm nuts that a standard socket can no longer grip without slipping. A flare nut socket has a split profile that grips hexagonal fittings on brake, fuel and hydraulic lines without rounding them — for jobs where a solid socket won't slide over the line or an open-ended spanner doesn't give enough purchase.
Q: Do you stock a 19mm wheel-nut socket?
Yes — Ko-Ken's 19mm x 110mm long wheel-nut socket (KO4300M-L110/19) is built with extra reach for wheel studs that sit set back behind the rim.
