Choosing a block or sheave
Start with the rope or wire you are running and the load. The block must be rated for the load, and the sheave must suit the rope size and type, because a sheave that is too small or the wrong groove wears the rope and can damage it. Snatch blocks open on the side so you can put a rope in without threading the end. Sheave blocks are used in rigging setups, and the head type, shackle, hook or swivel hook, sets how you attach it.
Check the rated working load on each variant, and use the block with fittings that are rated to match. Lifting work should be planned and carried out by competent people, following the rules that apply to your site.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the rated capacity, sheave size, rope range and the units of each size before ordering.
