Choosing cutting torch accessories
Start with the fuel gas, because nozzles and tips are made for either acetylene or LPG and the two are not interchangeable. Then match the nozzle type to your cutting attachment and torch, and choose the size for the thickness you are cutting. Keep a spare nozzle and tip cleaner so a blocked tip does not stop the job.
Flashback arrestors are a safety item. Fit one at the torch and one at the regulator on each gas line, check them regularly, and replace any that are damaged or have tripped.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the nozzle or tip suits your torch and fuel gas, and follow the manufacturer's instructions and your site's rules for gas welding and cutting.

Cutting torch accessory FAQs
What is the difference between oxygen/acetylene and oxygen/LPG nozzles?
They are made for different fuel gases and are not interchangeable. We list Type 41 and 3 seat nozzles for oxygen/acetylene, and Type 44 and 3 seat nozzles for oxygen/LPG.
Do I need flashback arrestors?
Flashback arrestors are a safety device for gas lines, and are normally fitted at both the torch end and the regulator end. We list both, for oxygen and fuel, with twin packs available.
What size cutting tip do I need?
It depends on the thickness of the steel you are cutting and your torch. The Type 41 cutting tip is listed in sizes 8, 12 and 15. Check the data sheet for the capacity of each, or call us on (02) 9773 0122.
Do you have lighters and flints?
Yes. We list single flint and triple flint spark lighters, and replacement flints in packs of 4 and 10.
