Choosing a D-ring
Start with the job. Tie-down rings are for load restraint on trucks and trailers, where you hook straps or chains to a fixed point. The stainless welded D ring suits wet or corrosive conditions where steel would rust. Match the ring size to the hook or strap end that will go through it, and check the load rating against the restraint you need.
Where the load rating is in the title, such as 2500kg LC or 4250kg LC, use that figure. Check the data sheet for the stainless D ring, because its rating depends on the size you choose.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the rating and how the ring must be fixed in place before you rely on it, and do not use a restraint ring for overhead lifting unless it is rated for it.
