Choosing a diesel pump

Start with the power supply. 12V and 24V pumps suit vehicles and sites without mains power, 240V suits workshops and depots, and hand pumps need no power at all. Next look at flow rate: many listings show it in LPM in the title. Decide whether you need a kit with hose and nozzle (automatic or manual) or a pump only, and whether a fixed bowser or a portable unit suits the site. Keep AdBlue and diesel equipment separate. Always check the data sheet for flow rate, fluid compatibility and any certifications before you order.

Diesel Pumps FAQs

Should I choose a 12V, 24V or 240V diesel pump?

Choose the pump to match the power you have. 12V and 24V pumps run from a vehicle or battery supply, so they suit utes, trucks and remote sites. 240V pumps and bowsers suit workshops and depots with mains power. Hand pumps need no power. Match the pump voltage to your supply.

What is the difference between a pump kit and a pump only?

A kit is supplied with extras such as a hose and a nozzle, and the title tells you whether the nozzle is automatic or manual. A pump-only listing, such as the Macnaught 12V high flow 85 L/min pump, does not include them. Check each listing for what is included.

Can I use a diesel pump for AdBlue?

Use equipment made for the fluid you are pumping. This collection includes AdBlue and UREA/DEF pumps and kits, which are named as such in their titles. Do not move a pump between diesel and AdBlue unless the data sheet says it is suitable. Call (02) 9773 0122 and we'll help you choose.
