Choosing an end mill
Start with the material: 8% cobalt steel or HSS cobalt, or carbide (shown as VHM in the Sutton titles). Then choose the type, which can be an endmill, slot drill, ball nose or chamfer, and the number of flutes and the length. Where a coating is listed in the title, such as TiAlN or AlCrN, it is part of the product name. Sizes are listed in the variants, in metric for most and imperial for the Bordo imperial end mill and the set. Always check the data sheet for what suits your material and machine before you order. Do you have ball nose and chamfer end mills?
