Buy File Handles Online in Australia
File handles at AIMS Industrial. We list 7 file handles: P&N file handles for files from 100 to 300mm (an Eco range and a soft grip version), and Pferd handles for needle files, key files and narrow tangs, and chain saw files, sold in packs of 10. A file should always be fitted with a handle, because the bare tang can injure your hand. Our Hand File Guide covers file profiles, cuts and selection.

Choosing a file handle
Match the handle to the file. Start with the file length and tang size, then choose the handle style: the P&N handles are listed by file length from 100 to 300mm, and the Pferd handles are made for needle files, key files and chain saw files. Wooden, composite and soft grip handles are all listed, so pick the grip that suits how long you work with the file. Seat the handle straight on the tang, and replace a handle that is split or loose.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the file length and tang size the handle suits before ordering.

File handle FAQs
Why do I need a handle on a file?
A file has a pointed tang at one end. Without a handle the tang is exposed and can cause a serious hand injury if the file catches or slips, and the file is harder to control.
What size file handle do I need?
Choose by the file length and the tang size. The P&N handles are listed for files from 100 to 300mm. Needle, key and chain saw files have their own Pferd handles.
Do you have handles for needle files?
Yes. We list Pferd wooden (92mm) and composite (100mm) needle file handles in packs of 10.
Do you have handles for chain saw files?
Yes. We list a Pferd ergonomic chain saw file handle and a Pferd wooden chain saw file handle, each in a pack of 10.
How do I fit a file handle?
Hold the handle vertically on the tang and tap the end of the handle down onto it until it seats firmly. Do not use the file to strike or lever the handle on, and do not use a handle that has split.
What pack sizes are available?
The Pferd handles are listed in packs of 10. Check the P&N listings for the quantity supplied.
