Choosing a stamp set
Choose the set by what you need to mark and the style. A 9-piece set covers the numbers and a 27-piece set covers the letters. Heavy duty sets are listed separately from the standard sets, and low stress and dot styles are listed for marking where the standard style is not the right fit. Reverse sets are listed for marking in reverse. Most sets come in several character sizes, so pick the size that suits the part and the space you have.
Stamping is done with a hammer, so use a hammer that suits the stamp and the metal, and support the work properly. Always check the data sheet. Confirm the character size and style before you order, and check whether the marking is allowed on your part or needs to be specified by your customer.
