Choosing an SKF seal
Match the seal by shaft diameter, housing bore and width first, using the size shown on the product. Then choose the material: NBR (nitrile) for general use, or FKM where the listing is for a higher temperature or chemical-resistant compound. The letters in the title tell you the material, for example R and RG for NBR and V for FKM. A Speedi-Sleeve fits over a worn seal surface on a shaft so that a new seal can run on it. Check the sleeve size against the shaft before ordering.

What is an SKF Speedi-Sleeve?
A Speedi-Sleeve is a thin repair sleeve that fits over a worn seal surface on a shaft, so a new seal can run on a smooth surface without replacing the shaft. We list ten sizes for 24 to 95mm shafts.
What do R, RG and V mean on SKF seals?
In our listings, R and RG are NBR (nitrile) seals and V is an FKM seal. Check the product and the data sheet for the operating range of each.
What size seal do I need?
Measure the shaft diameter, the housing bore diameter and the width the seal has to fit, and match those three numbers to the variant. If the seal is already fitted, the markings on the old seal can help.
What is the MUD11 Mudblock seal?
It is an SKF cassette seal in NBR70, listed for shafts from 35 to 170mm. See the variants for the bore and outside diameter combinations.
What is SKF LGEP 2 grease?
LGEP 2 is a high load, extreme pressure grease, supplied in a 420ml cartridge. Check the data sheet for the applications it is made for.
