Choosing a polish or wax
Polish is generally a lighter product for regular upkeep of a finished surface, while wax gives a deeper protective coat that you apply less often. Match the product to the timber and its existing finish, choose clear for light timber and dark for dark timber, and test on a hidden spot first. Apply thinly, work with the grain and buff to a finish.
We do not list dewaxers, shellac, French polish, stains or tung and linseed oils in this range. If you need those, call us and we will see what we can source.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the surface it suits and how to apply it before you start.

Wood polish and wax FAQs
What is the difference between polish and wax?
Polish is a lighter product for regular upkeep, and wax gives a deeper protective coat you apply less often. Check the label for how to use each product.
How do I apply furniture wax?
Clean the surface first, apply a thin even coat working with the grain, and buff it to a finish. Several thin coats work better than one thick coat.
How do I fix a small scratch or chip in timber?
Use scratch cover for scratches, or a beeswax filler stick for small holes and chips. Match the colour to your timber and test it first.
Do you sell products for chopping boards?
Yes. We list chopping board oil and a foodsafe wax. Check the label for how to use them on surfaces that touch food.
