AAP Hydraulic Plug, BSPT, 3/4 in (20 mm) | HP12B

This AAP hydraulic plug closes a female BSP threaded port. It has a male BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) thread and a hexagon head, in the 3/4 in (20 mm) size, dash size 12, part number HP12B.

A plug closes an unused female threaded port or the end of a fitting. This one has a male taper thread and a hexagon head for a spanner. A is the overall length, B the thread length and A/F the hexagon across flats, as lettered on the AAP drawing.

AAP states that its hydraulic fittings are designed and made to withstand much greater pressures than general piping systems, and that they come with a zinc chromium finish to increase corrosion resistance (manufacturer-stated). AAP's BSP thread table lists a maximum working pressure of 280 bar for the 3/4 taper external thread (manufacturer-stated). AAP does not state the material of the plug or give a separate pressure rating for it, so confirm the pressure, temperature and fluid for your application with AIMS before you order.

Selecting the right option

Check that your port is BSP and the same size before you order. This plug has a BSPT male thread (3/4 - 14), so it will not suit an NPT, JIC or UNO port. AAP also lists this plug in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 and 2 in, which AIMS does not currently list. Ask if you need one.
