This AAP blind plate flange is made from carbon steel plate to BS4504 PN16 (now BS EN1092) (manufacturer-stated). It is supplied in 7 sizes from 2 in (50 mm) to 8 in (200 mm).
A blind flange has no centre bore. It closes off the end of a pipe run, a valve port or a vessel nozzle, and can be unbolted when you need access for inspection, cleaning or pressure testing. AAP describes plate flanges as mainly used for light duty, lower pressure or non-critical applications. They are cut and machined from plate steel.
PN16 is the pressure designation. AAP's catalogue gives the dimensions for this range but not a working pressure, so confirm the allowable pressure for your duty with AIMS before ordering.

Selecting the right option
Choose the blind flange that matches the standard, table or class and size of the flange it closes. The 6-1/2 in and 6-5/8 in options are the two bore choices for 6 in pipe (167 mm and 170 mm bore), so measure your pipe outside diameter to pick the right one. Match the standard and table or class to the mating flange and compare the drilling dimensions listed on this page, because flanges made to different standards are not interchangeable. Gaskets and bolting are not part of this listing. If you are not sure what suits, contact AIMS with the standard and size of the mating flange.
