1/2 in (15 mm) Forged Steel Piston Check Valve, NPT | VCP80015

This AAP forged steel Class 800 piston check valve has a forged ASTM A105 body and bonnet, a 316 stainless steel spring, an SS410 disc, a Stellite seat and female NPT threaded ends. It is supplied in 6 sizes from 1/2 in (15 mm) to 2 in (50 mm).

A piston check valve is a type of lift check valve. Forward pressure lifts the disc, which works as a piston in a guide, off its seat to let fluid through. The guide keeps the disc moving in a straight line so it reseats properly, and here a spring helps close it when the pressure drops or flow reverses. AAP does not state which mounting positions the valve suits, so confirm the orientation with AIMS if the valve is not going in horizontal pipework.

AAP gives a cold working pressure of 13,800 kPa (138 bar) and a maximum working temperature of 427 degrees C, with design to ANSI B16.34 and thread (NPT) to ANSI B1.20.1 (all manufacturer-stated). AAP lists the valve for steam, oil and the petrochemical industry. The pressure figure is the cold working pressure, so the allowable pressure falls as the temperature rises. Ask AIMS for the pressure and temperature rating if the valve will run hot.

Choose the size and the end connection, thread (npt), to match your pipework, and confirm the pressure and temperature rating for your duty. AAP also lists the other end connection in the same sizes.
