B-Safe Attachment Strap, 1.5 m, 25 mm Webbing, Sewn Loop (BP03101.5)

The B-Safe attachment strap, code BP03101.5, is a 1.5 m continuous sewn loop in 25 mm black webbing, used to tie off around an anchor point so fall prevention or fall arrest equipment can be attached (manufacturer-stated). B-Safe's catalogue lists it as a temporary anchor for one person and uses it in the Tradie Roofers Kit.

B-Safe's documents differ on the rating. Beaver's website says it is rated to 21 kN and gives a safe working load of two persons, while B-Safe's catalogue says 22 kN for one person. Until AIMS confirms the rating for the strap supplied, treat it as a 21 kN strap for one person. Beaver's website says it is 100% visually inspected and batch tested (manufacturer-stated).

B-Safe's technical guide says to inspect fall protection equipment before each use, to check the date of manufacture and the remove from service date on the label, and to take any equipment that has been used to arrest a fall out of use and return it to the supplier for inspection and certification, or destroy it (manufacturer-stated).

Fall protection equipment must be selected, installed, used, inspected and maintained by trained people in line with the manufacturer's instructions and the relevant Australian Standards. Ask AIMS for the instructions and test certificates before you order, and never use it for any purpose other than the one it was made for.

Selecting the right option

Choose an anchor point that can take the load, and see B-Safe's technical guide figure of 15 kN for one person for free fall arrest. Connect it to a full body harness that has a fall arrest attachment point, and to an anchorage that can take the load. B-Safe's technical guide says an anchorage for free fall arrest must withstand a minimum of 15 kN for one person and 21 kN for two (manufacturer-stated).
