Beaver Geared Girder Trolley, 5 t, 114-305 mm Beam (523050S)
Available
Beaver geared girder trolleys are colour coded, hand chain operated trolleys that Beaver describes as suited to heavier loads, higher suspension levels or high use applications (manufacturer-stated). They are designed to run on RSJ or universal beams, with a hanging eye for attaching a chain block (manufacturer-stated). This listing carries five codes from 1 t to 10 t (523010S to 523100S).
Beaver states the trolleys comply with AS 1418.2 (manufacturer-stated). Beaver says every trolley is operationally tested to 150% of its rated capacity and comes with a test certificate, and that each trolley has a serial number stamped on its stainless steel identification plate that matches the test certificate (manufacturer-stated). Beaver says the trolleys are not designed for passenger elevator applications and must not be used for that purpose, and that selecting and calculating the proper beam is the user's responsibility (manufacturer-stated).
The hand chain on Beaver's geared trolleys has a corrosion resistant zinc dichromate (gold) finish (manufacturer-stated). Lifting equipment must be used within its marked working load limit (WLL), inspected before each use, and selected and used in line with your site lifting procedure and the relevant Australian Standards. If you are unsure what suits your lift, contact AIMS or a qualified rigger before ordering.

Figures are from Beaver's Materials Handling Technical Manual (Vol. 4) and Beaver's website, which agree. Dimensions A to L3 are in millimetres, as listed by Beaver. Beaver's close headroom geared trolleys (523010SC to 523030SC, to suit 3S chain blocks) and its 20 t geared trolley (523200S) are separate codes that AIMS does not carry. Beaver's tables head the effort column in newtons (N) for these codes, and head the matching column on its close headroom geared table in kg; the newtons figures are shown here. Beaver lists the flange width the trolleys adjust to as up to 305 mm in its manual and up to 350 mm on its website, and its tables run to 305 mm.
Selecting the right option
Choose the rated capacity to suit the chain block plus the heaviest load it will carry, then check that the beam width range covers your beam flange and that your beam is suited to the trolley. If you are unsure, ask AIMS or a qualified rigger before ordering.
