BECO 6300 Extreme Temperature Deep Groove Ball Bearing, Open 330°C, 10 x 35 x 11 mm

The BECO BHTS 330° is an open deep groove ball bearing for existing applications that have an automatic oil dropping system. It is built on standard bearing boundary dimensions from stabilised AISI 52100 chrome steel, with a manganese phosphate coating on all steel parts, 4xC5 radial internal clearance and no seals or shields. This range has 5 sizes with bores from 10 to 40 mm across the 6000, 6200 and 6300 series.

BECO rates it for -20°C to +330°C. It is lubricated with molybdenum disulphide grease and needs additional high temperature oil dropped onto it in service. Without that periodic lubrication the bearing oxidises, locks up and loses much of its life. BECO recommends it only for existing applications with an automatic oil dropping system.

Selecting the right option

This bearing is for automatic lubrication only. If the application does not have an automatic oil dropping system, use the shielded 280°C range (lubricated for life) or the graphite cage 350°C range (no grease) instead.

Select by bore, outside diameter and width first, then check the limiting speed for that size in the table against the shaft speed. Limiting speeds run from 100 to 220 rpm and fall steeply as the bearing gets larger.

The static load rating is shown at 330°C and at 20°C. Use the figure for the temperature the bearing will actually run at.

Fitting and use

The bearing needs a continuing supply of high temperature oil in service. Absence of periodic lubrication causes fast oxidation, locking of the bearing and a strong reduction of life.

Press the ring that has the interference fit onto its seat, and never push through the balls or the other ring.

The shaft and housing expand with temperature, so check the fits at operating temperature.
