TCT hole saws outlast bi-metal in steel by 10x or more. Cutting speed must be significantly lower than for bi-metal — refer to the manufacturer's speed chart. Always use cutting oil on steel. The pilot drill must be replaced before it becomes dull — a worn pilot destroys the hole saw.
