CRC CO Contact Cleaner 150g

CRC contact cleaners are aerosol cleaners and degreasers for sensitive electronic and electrical equipment.

The versions differ in flammability, hazard classification and plastics compatibility, so check the details for the pack you choose. The application list below is for the CO Contact Cleaner.

Where this product is used

• Electronic and electrical components such as connectors, contacts, terminals, plugs, jacks, printed circuit boards, relays, switches, circuit breakers, motors and sensors
• IT equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, memory cards and server room equipment
• Home appliance repair and maintenance, for example washing machines, dryers, dish washers and vacuum cleaners
• Hospital and health care equipment such as diagnostic imaging equipment, hearing aids and laboratory equipment

• Three CRC formulations in four packs: CO (150g, 350g), QD (311g) and NF (400g)
• CO and QD are plastic safe evaporating cleaners and degreasers
• CO and QD: non-conductive, non-corrosive and non-staining, with no lubricants, silicones or oils
• NF: non-flammable with no flash point, but it may be harmful to some plastics
• CO: carries an NSF (US) registration in category K2 for cleaning electronic instruments and devices

Choosing the right option

If you need a non-flammable cleaner, the NF Contact Cleaner 400g has no flash point, but it may be harmful to some plastics, for example ABS, PEBAX2533 and polystyrene. The CO and QD versions are, plastic safe but are extremely flammable aerosols.

Using it

Do not use on energised equipment. Shut off the power and isolate the equipment before spraying, and let the surface dry completely and the area ventilate before power is restored.

The directions differ slightly by version, so read the directions for the pack you have. Details are shown against each pack.

For the CO version, de-activate and isolate equipment before use, the QD version must not be applied while equipment is energised, and the NF version is not recommended for energised equipment.

NSF registration no. 134911, category K2.

NSF letter dated 29/06/04: it is acceptable for use as a solvent for cleaning electronic instruments and devices (K2) and not intended for direct food contact.

Dielectric strength 40,000 volt, tested to ASTM D-877, for the CO version (150g and 350g).

Limits and safety

Hazard classifications differ by version. Extremely flammable aerosol (H222), pressurised container that may burst if heated (H229), may cause drowsiness or dizziness (H336); UN 1950, Class 2.1. Extremely flammable aerosol (H222), pressurised container (H229), may be fatal if swallowed and enters airways (H304), causes skin irritation (H315), may cause drowsiness or dizziness (H336), very toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H410); UN 1950, Class 2.1; classified as Schedule 5 (S5) under the SUSMP poisons standard. Pressurised container (H229), harmful if inhaled (H332), harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H412); UN 1950, Class 2.2. Do not use on energised equipment.
