Selecting the right option
This is a grease in a tube for sealing, lubricating and insulating. For other CRC food grade lubricants see CRC Food Grade Multi-Purpose Grease 397g and CRC Food Grade Silicone Spray Multi-Purpose 283g.
Using it
Shut off power, drain stored power and let hot surfaces cool.
Clean surfaces, connectors and contacts, then apply the grease liberally as required.
CRC directions: do not apply while equipment is energised.
Storage and handling
See the safety data sheet for handling and storage advice.
Limits and safety
CRC's safety data sheet (revision 2.4) does not classify this grease as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria, and it is not a dangerous good (ADG, IMDG, IATA). The safety data sheet and technical data sheet describe it as combustible (flammability class C2), so keep it away from naked flames and ignition sources. The safety data sheet notes that trace formaldehyde may be released when the grease is heated above 150 °C in air. CRC states it is not suitable for use with hydraulic brake cylinder pads, and must not be used for LPG, LNG, compressed oxygen, chlorine or air systems. Read the safety data sheet before use.
Frequently asked questions
What temperature range does CRC Food Grade Silicone Grease cover?
CRC's technical data sheet gives -40 °C to +200 °C.
What is the flash point of CRC Food Grade Silicone Grease?
