This Dixon notched NOS ferrule is the ferrule half of Dixon's external notched stem and ferrule system. This listing covers six ferrules in three stem sizes (40 mm, 50 mm and 75 mm), each for a hose outside diameter (OD) range from 48.8 mm to 96.4 mm (manufacturer-stated).
Dixon describes the stem as 316 stainless steel with a wrench flat and the ferrule as 304 stainless steel, and states that the assembly can be swaged or crimped on. You must buy a stem and the matching ferrule to make an assembly (manufacturer-stated).

- Fitting a Dixon notched NOS hose tail (male NPT, or male BSP in the A-suffix stems) to hose by crimping or swaging (manufacturer-stated).
- Re-hosing: stock one stem and two ferrules to cover the same hose range with less inventory (manufacturer-stated).

Dixon states: only use NOS hose tails with NOS ferrules. For hose OD of 52.4 mm and below the couplings are crimp only, and for 52.8 mm and above they can be crimped or swaged (manufacturer-stated). The notes do not cover hose OD between 52.4 mm and 52.8 mm. Dixon lists the same ferrule against both the male NPT and the male BSP stem.
Selecting the right option
Select by measured hose OD, not hose ID. GAS2334NOS (48.8 to 54.8 mm) and GAS2370NOS (51.6 to 58.7 mm) both cover hose around 52 mm, so check which suits your hose wall and assembly method. Use these ferrules only with NOS stems (manufacturer-stated), and do not mix them with other manufacturers' stems or ferrules.
