A zinc phosphate metal primer that gives steel, wrought iron and structural steel excellent resistance to corrosion before the topcoat goes on. Dy-Mark Zinc Guard Zinc Phosphate Metal Primer is a single-pack modified alkyd that dries to a smooth satin grey and gives oil, alkyd and co-polymer alkyd topcoats a sound base.
It goes on by brush, roller, or conventional or airless spray, is touch dry in 25–30 minutes at 25°C and ready to recoat in 4–6 hours. At the recommended 25 micron dry film, a 4L can covers approx. 48–56 m² per coat.
Dy-Mark rate it for short to medium-term protection. Surface prep matters: grind back to clean, dry, bare metal, and treat any rust that can't be removed with a rust converter before you prime.
