The Gates Predator is a premium narrow V-belt designed for the most demanding industrial drives. Predator belts deliver higher power ratings in the same drive envelope as standard belts, reducing the number of belt strands required and cutting drive operating costs.

| Construction | Wrapped, aramid-cord V-belt. Flex-bonded aramid tensile cords are pound-for-pound stronger than steel and combine limited stretch with extraordinary strength and durability, giving roughly half the stretch of a standard polyester-cord Gates belt for markedly higher power density and easy handling of shock loads. Double-layer bareback cover protects against slippage and punctures, resists debris, and allows the belt to slip under extreme shock-load conditions without excessive heat buildup, prolonging belt life. Gates Curves profile gives proper cord support and full contact with the sheave groove for equal loading, uniform wear and increased belt life. Premium rubber compound; non-self-igniting. Multiple-layer tie band provides excellent lateral rigidity to prevent belts from turning over or coming off the drive, and keeps the set matched as one unit; static conductive (ISO 1813) on SPB and SPC PowerBand sizes. |

| Belt Matching | Predator V-belts must be ordered in matched sets (Gates). Aramid tensile cords have roughly half the stretch of a standard polyester-cord belt, so Predator belts do not run in and equalise tension the way conventional belts do — for any multi-belt drive (2 or more strands on the same pulley), order a Gates-matched set and do not mix individually-ordered Predator belts on one drive. Selecting the right option
Select by belt section first, then by pitch length. Classical sections run A, B, C, D, E (or Z in metric) — cross-reference to the metric ISO equivalent (13A, 17A, 22A) where needed. Narrow sections (3V/SPA, 5V/SPB, 8V/SPC) carry more power in the same envelope. The XP series (XPZ/XPA/XPB/XPC) are notched versions for improved flex efficiency.
