Gates Multi-Speed belts are a wide, raw-edge V-belt built for variable-speed drives, where the sheave pitch diameter — and so the drive ratio — changes continuously in operation. The notched, self-adjusting cross-section maintains grip on the pulley groove across the full speed range.
Where this product is used
Multi-Speed belts suit any drive that needs to change speed ratio without a gearbox. Typical applications include:
- Variable-speed pulley (sheave) drives on machine tools, fans and mixers
- Agricultural and processing machinery needing adjustable output speed
- Any drive where special top width, thickness or angle sizing is needed — available on request

Select by section (W16, W25, W31.5, W40, HV or a special size) and outside circumference, or by the OE/existing belt part number — Multi-Speed sections aren’t interchangeable with standard fixed-ratio V-belts. Contact AIMS if you need to confirm the section from a worn or unmarked belt, or to order a special size.
