Gates PowerGrip Timing XH section is a rubber synchronous belt with a classical (trapezoidal) tooth profile — a maintenance-free, economical alternative to roller chain drives, well suited to positioning and general industrial power transmission.

Gates PowerGrip Timing belts are an industrial synchronous drive belt, not an automotive timing belt. Typical applications include:
- Indexing, positioning and general-purpose industrial synchronous drives
- Machine tools, robotics, conveyors and packaging machinery
- Any roller chain drive being converted to a lower-maintenance belt system
