The UK type has a tapered inner ring (taper 1:12) and uses a separate H2300X adapter sleeve to match the shaft size and mount the insert. It is the replaceable bearing inside a plummer block (pillow block), flange or take-up unit.

Selecting the right option

Every size on this page is a metric size: the drop-down shows the shaft diameter in mm that the adapter sleeve fits. For an inch shaft, the inch adapter sleeve code depends on the shaft size (the catalogue adapter table uses HE, HS or HA codes, for example HE2306X for 1 in, HS2306X for 7/8 in and HA2306X for 15/16 in). See the adapter sleeve pages below or ask AIMS to confirm the code.

The shaft size is smaller than the tapered bore of the insert: for example, the UK206 has a 30 mm tapered bore and fits a 25 mm shaft with its adapter sleeve. Order the adapter sleeve with the insert, because they are two separate items.

Fitting and use

Check the load and speed against the catalogue figures in the Model Details before ordering, and apply a suitable safety factor. The allowable rotating speed in the catalogue is a standard value: it falls to 80% for units fitted with covers, and a loose fit between shaft and inner ring reduces it further.

Order the insert and its adapter sleeve together, because they are two separate items.

Match the insert to a housing with the same size number: the spherical O.D. seats in a matching spherical housing bore.
