Loctite 7543 Extend Rust Treatment

The Loctite SF 754 Extend Rust Treatment (part 75430) is a water-based latex coating that goes straight onto rusted steel. It reacts with the rust to form a black protective layer that stops further corrosion and doubles as a primer for most finish paints. It turns black in about 5 minutes and can be recoated in 15 to 30 minutes. This is the 946 ml bottle.

Stir well, remove oil and grease, and wire-brush away loose scale while leaving some surface rust for it to react with, then brush, roll, sponge or airless-spray two coats and wait at least 24 hours before topcoating. Apply between about 10°C and 32°C in dry conditions, avoid water-based or zinc-rich topcoats, and do not use it on parts in continuous immersion. Consult the Safety Data Sheet before use.
