Loctite SF 7900 Ceramic Shield Anti-Spatter for Welding 270g

Loctite SF 7900 Ceramic Shield, also known as Loctite Ceramishield, is a ceramic dry-film protective coating for MIG/MAG welding processes. It is a silicone-free boron nitride coating supplied as a 270 g spray with a propane/butane propellant.

Applied to contact tips and welding nozzles, it prevents spatter adhesion and gives significantly longer processing times without cleaning, with reduced downtime. It also protects jigs, fixtures or fittings, power cables, sensors, metal components and the jaws of spot welding systems.

Selecting the right option

Using it

Clean and degrease the surface. Shake the can for at least 1 minute, then spray from about 10 to 15 cm. Apply sparingly, as excessive thickness causes the film to flake off.

Apply at temperatures below 65 °C. On a plasma torch or cutter tip, keep the air purge on during application.

The film dries within 5 to 10 seconds at room temperature; thicker films need longer. Once welding begins, the film hardens on the equipment surface from the heat generated.

Storage and handling

Store in the unopened container in a dry location. Henkel gives 8 °C to 21 °C as the optimal range. Storage below 8 °C or above 28 °C can adversely affect the properties of the product.

Limits and safety

Not recommended for pure oxygen or oxygen-rich systems, and not to be selected as a lubricant for chlorine or other strong oxidising materials. Read the safety data sheet before use.
