SSFSC-10 Shaft Collar, 304 Stainless Steel, 10 mm Bore
Available
Set screw shaft collars in metric sizes SSFSC-10 to SSFSC-50, for shafts with a bore from 10 to 50 mm. A shaft collar is a ring-shaped component used as a mechanical stop, a locating component or a bearing face. The collar slides onto the shaft and is fastened in position with a grub screw.
These collars are made from 304 stainless steel. Each part number repeats the bore size, and the table below lists the bore, outside diameter, width, grub screw size and approximate mass for each size.
Where this product is used

Selecting and fitting
Choose the collar by shaft diameter. The bore tolerance is +0.01 to +0.05 mm, so the collar fits closely on a shaft of the nominal size. The catalogue gives no holding force rating, so contact AIMS if you need one.
The grub screw bites into the shaft, so a set screw collar is most effective on a shaft made of a softer material, and it can mark the shaft surface. Where the shaft must not be marked, use a clamp type collar: see Shaft Collar, One-Piece Split Clamp Type, Black Oxide Steel, Metric, FSC-6-CL to FSC-50-CL or Shaft Collar, Two-Piece Split Clamp Type, Black Oxide Steel, Metric, FSC-6-SP to FSC-50-SP.
Other set screw collars are on Shaft Collar, Zinc Plated Steel, Set Screw Type, Imperial, FSC-1/4 to FSC-2, Shaft Collar, Zinc Plated Steel, Set Screw Type, Metric, FSC-6 to FSC-50. and Shaft Collar, 304 Stainless Steel, Set Screw Type, Imperial, SSFSC-3/8 to SSFSC-2
Slide the collar onto the shaft, set its position and tighten the grub screw firmly. On machines that vibrate, check the grub screw regularly.
Dimensions are as listed in the manufacturer catalogue and are for reference. Contact AIMS to confirm a measurement if it is critical to your application.
