The Stahlwille 46a is the long version of the 3/8" drive inch bi-hex socket, in 14 sizes from 1/4 to 1". Lengths step from 54 to 60 to 65 mm with the size (manufacturer-stated).
Stahlwille's datasheets call this series the long version, and its 2017 brochure lists it as extra deep. The bi-hex (double hexagon, 12-point) profile carries Stahlwille's AS-Drive (Anti-Slip Drive) form, which the maker says transmits high forces to the flats of nuts and bolts without damaging them. The sockets are HPQ steel, chrome-plated, and Stahlwille specifies hand operation only. The range is listed to ASME B 107.1 / Fed. Spec. GGG-W-641 / SAE AS 954-E (manufacturer-stated).

Choose the 46a when reach is the problem and the fastener is an inch size. The standard-length Stahlwille 45a 3/8" Drive Bi-Hex Sockets runs from 24 to 35 mm, and the Stahlwille 460a 3/8" Drive Bi-Hex Sockets sits between the two for sizes up to 1/2".
