Sutton M7070300 Centre Punch 3 mm x 165 mm - Soft Grip, Chrome Vanadium Steel

The Sutton M707 centre punches range covers 8 sizes, 2-12 mm, with soft grip handles and chrome vanadium steel construction. A centre punch is typically used as an aid to drilling operations. A drill tends to wander on the surface until it gains enough purchase to start cutting a hole, and a centre punch mark gives it a start.

Made from high quality chrome vanadium steel with a black oxide finish. The point is hardened and tempered to withstand continuous use. An ergonomic soft rubber grip provides comfort and safety. The handle is colour coded.

Using the centre punch

• Mark the hole position, set the punch point on the mark and strike the head squarely with a hammer.
• Check the mark before drilling and re-punch if it is off centre.
• Wear eye protection when striking hardened tools.
