Hobson Knurled Body Drop-In Anchor With Lip, M6 / 25

This is the Hobson knurled body drop-in anchor with lip (knurled body, lip and zinc yellow finish). The range has 5 items: M6 to M12 in 25, 30 and 50mm lengths. A drop-in anchor is an internally threaded anchor body.

It is dropped into a pre-drilled hole and expanded with a setting tool, and a bolt or threaded rod is then screwed into it.

Where this product is used

• Concrete floors, slabs and ceilings where a flush internal thread is wanted
• Suspended services such as pipework, ducting and cable tray, hung from threaded rod
• Fixing machinery and rack legs with a bolt that can be removed later, leaving the thread flush with the surface
• Indoor and under-cover assemblies where a yellow zinc finish is specified

Choosing the right option

The bolt or threaded rod that screws in must match the thread size of the anchor, and the anchor size has to suit the job.

Yellow zinc is zinc plating with a yellow passivate over it, a chromate conversion layer that gives the colour. Underneath it is electroplated zinc, so the same limits apply: dry, indoor and sheltered use, and not suitable for treated pine. For outdoor or weather-exposed work, choose a hot dip galvanised option; near the coast or in splash zones, 316 stainless is generally the better choice.

Set the anchor with the matching setting tool in a drilled hole in concrete, then fit the bolt or rod.
