Lockout hasps let several people put their own padlocks on a single isolation point, so the equipment stays isolated until the last lock comes off. This range is mostly Master Lock, plus a Mayo Hardware aluminium hasp, in aluminium, steel and nylon bodies with 2, 4, 6 and 8-lock options. There are also two hasp and staple lines for general padlocking.

Choosing a lockout hasp
- Lock capacity: count the people who will lock on at the same time and pick a hasp with enough holes. For larger crews, use more than one hasp or a group lockout box.
- Material: the aluminium hasps are listed as spark proof, the steel hasps as heavy duty, and the nylon hasp as non-conductive. Aluminium does conduct electricity, so choose the nylon hasp where a conductive hasp could be a hazard.
- Jaw size: the larger hasps list a 25mm or 38mm jaw. Match this to the isolation point you are locking out.
- Hasp and staple hardware: the hinge and wrought steel hasp and staple lines are traditional hasp hardware, not multi-lock lockout hasps. Use a multi-lock hasp for group isolation.

How many padlocks does a lockout hasp take?
The range covers 2, 4, 6 and 8-lock hasps. The 6-lock hasps come with 25mm or 38mm jaws, and the 8-lock hasps are an aluminium dual jaw model and a heavy duty steel model with a 25mm jaw. If your isolation point needs more padlocks than that, use more than one hasp or step up to a group lockout box.
Which hasp suits electrical isolation?
Master Lock lists the aluminium hasps as spark proof and the nylon hasp as non-conductive. Aluminium does conduct electricity, so where a conductive hasp could be a hazard, choose the nylon hasp and confirm on the data sheet that it suits your procedure.
What does jaw diameter mean in the product titles?
It is the size of the jaw opening on the hasp, listed as 25mm or 38mm on the larger models. Check it against the isolation point you are locking out, and check the padlock shackle size against the hasp holes, using the manufacturer's data sheet.
Does a hasp replace individual padlocks?
No. The hasp holds the locks, it does not replace them. Each person adds their own padlock so the energy source stays isolated until every lock is removed. Padlocks are in our padlocks range.
Can I use a hinge hasp and staple for lockout?
The hinge hasp and staple and the hard wrought steel hasp and staple are traditional hasp hardware rather than multi-lock lockout hasps. For group isolation use one of the multi-lock hasps above, and check your site lockout procedure before relying on a hasp and staple.
