AIMS Industrial sells cable lockout devices from Brady and Master Lock — adjustable cable lockout tools for use in Lockout Tagout (LOTO) programs for isolating valves, switches, circuit breakers, plug points and other energy sources that don't have a dedicated lock point.

Cable lockout devices use a flexible cable loop that can be routed through, around or across an energy control point and secured with a padlock to prevent re-energisation during maintenance and servicing.

Why Cable Lockout?

• Versatile isolation: A cable lockout device can secure energy sources that don't have a purpose-built lockout point — including ball valve handles, gate valve wheels, pull-handles, circuit breaker toggles and disconnects. The flexible cable routes around irregular shapes and through tight spaces where a standard hasp or lockout clamp won't fit.
• Multi-lock group isolation: Cable lockout devices allow multiple workers to each apply their personal padlock to the same cable device, ensuring that the energy source cannot be re-energised until every worker has removed their lock — a fundamental requirement of group LOTO procedures under Australian WHS regulations.
• Adjustable cable length: The adjustable cable length allows the device to adapt to different energy control point sizes — from a small ball valve handle to a large gate valve wheel or distribution panel door.
• Retractable models: Retractable cable lockout devices store the cable neatly when not in use, reducing tangling and workplace hazards.
