Choosing a lockout kit
- Energy source: pick electrical for switchboards and electrical isolation, valve for pipework and process isolation, or an electrical and valve set if the job covers both.
- Personal or station: the personal and pouch kits are carry sets for one person. The kit and station sets are the larger options for keeping a set at the point of use.
- Keying: most of the kits are listed with keyed alike (KA) padlocks, which means one key fits every padlock in the kit. If each worker needs their own key, call us and we will point you to the right padlocks.
- Top-ups: a kit is a starting point. Add padlocks, hasps, cable lockouts and tags as your program grows.
Always check the data sheet. The contents of each kit, including the number and type of devices and padlocks, vary by model. Ask us for the packing list, and check it against your isolation points and your site lockout procedure before you buy.

What is in a lockout kit?
It depends on the model. The listing names the kit type (electrical, valve, or both), whether it is a pouch or a station set, and the padlock keying. Contact us for the packing list of the kit you are considering.
Should I choose an electrical kit or a valve kit?
Choose by the isolation points you work on. Electrical kits suit switchboards and electrical isolation, valve kits suit pipework and process isolation, and the electrical and valve sets cover both.
What does KA mean on a lockout kit?
KA means keyed alike, so one key opens every padlock in the kit. If your procedure needs each worker to hold a unique key, ask us about keyed different padlocks.
What is the difference between a pouch kit and a kit and station set?

Can I add more padlocks or devices to a kit?
