Buy Anti-Vibration Mounts Online in Australia
Anti-vibration mounts, also called rubber mounts, machine mounts or vibration isolators, sit between a vibrating machine and its supporting structure. They absorb vibration so it does not travel into the floor, frame or neighbouring equipment, which reduces noise, protects bearings and fixings, and extends equipment life. AIMS Industrial's range is built around Mackay flange isolators, Conflex foot isolators, multicushion isolators, plate isolators, bonded buffers and levelling feet, plus cylindrical rubber mounts from Finer Power Transmissions. For a deeper look at types and sizing, read our Anti-Vibration Mounts guide.

Choosing an anti-vibration mount
Four things drive the choice. First, the static load on each mount: the total machine weight divided by the number of mounting points, adjusted for where the centre of gravity sits. Second, the disturbing frequency. For an electric motor this is the running speed in rpm divided by 60, so a 1450 rpm motor disturbs at about 24 Hz. The mount needs to be soft enough that its natural frequency sits well below the disturbing frequency, or it will not isolate. Third, the movement you can accept: softer mounts isolate better but let the machine move more, while harder mounts carry more load with less travel. Fourth, the environment. Natural rubber is not oil resistant, so for oil, fuel or washdown areas ask about the compound and consider the stainless steel and neoprene options.
As a starting point, cylindrical rubber mounts suit small motors, fans and light machinery, flange isolators suit motors and generator sets on base frames, plate isolators and pads suit heavier foundations, and levelling feet suit machine tools. Pipework connected to isolated equipment should be flexible so the machine can move.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the load rating, deflection and compound for your application before ordering, and for noise-critical or compliance-critical jobs involve an acoustic or vibration consultant.

Need help selecting a mount? Call us on (02) 9773 0122, contact our team or request a quote. We have supplied Australian industry since 1988. To recommend a mount we need the equipment make, model and weight, the number and spacing of mounting points, the running speed, the environment and the space available.
Anti-vibration mount FAQs
What does an anti-vibration mount do?
It sits between a machine and its support and absorbs vibration, so less noise and movement is passed into the floor, frame or nearby equipment. It also protects bearings, welds and fixings from vibration damage.
What type of mount suits an electric motor or pump?
Small motors and fans suit cylindrical rubber mounts. Motors and generator sets on base frames suit flange isolators, and pumps often use Conflex foot isolators. Check the load per mount and the running speed before choosing.
How do I work out the load on each mount?
Divide the total machine weight by the number of mounting points, then adjust for the centre of gravity, because the heavier end of a motor and pump skid carries more than an equal share. Allow a margin for dynamic load and check the manufacturer's load range.
What is the difference between a cylindrical mount and a flange isolator?
A cylindrical mount is a rubber cylinder bonded to threaded studs, suited to lighter machinery. A flange isolator has a steel flange that bolts to the equipment foot, and is used on heavier motors and generator sets.
What does Shore hardness mean for a mount?
It is the hardness of the rubber. Our cylindrical mounts come in 40, 55 and 65 Shore. Softer rubber isolates better but allows more movement, and harder rubber carries more load with less deflection.
Which mounts suit oil or washdown areas?
Natural rubber is not oil resistant. We list neoprene and stainless steel versions of several Mackay isolators, so ask our team about the compound before ordering for oily or washdown environments.
Can AIMS help me choose the right mount?
Yes. Call (02) 9773 0122 with the equipment make, model and weight, the number of mounting points, the running speed and the environment, and we will recommend a mount.
