Choosing automotive lifting tools
Match the tool to the job. Bottle and garage jacks are for lifting a vehicle or component in the workshop or in the field, scissor lifts are fixed or semi-fixed equipment for lifting a whole vehicle to working height, and the wheel lift and creeper are for handling wheels and for working under or beside the vehicle. Check the rated capacity against the heaviest vehicle or load you will lift, and the lifting height against your workspace.
A jack lifts a load but does not hold it. Support a raised vehicle on properly rated stands or the lift's own locks before anyone works underneath, and follow the maker's instructions. Fixed lifts also have installation and inspection requirements, so confirm those for your site before buying.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the rated capacity, power supply, installation needs and the units of each size before ordering.

Automotive lifting FAQs
What is the difference between a bottle jack and a garage jack?
A bottle jack is a compact upright jack, and a squat version is lower for tight clearances. A garage jack, also called a trolley or floor jack, rolls on wheels and is easier to position under a vehicle. We list Beaver bottle jacks, squat bottle jacks and a 2.25 T garage jack.
What scissor lifts do you have?
Alemlube 3.5 T low profile full rise and mid rise, and Ravaglioli 3.5 T low profile full rise and 3.2 T mid-rise models. Check the data sheet for lift height, power and installation.
Can I work under a vehicle held only by a jack?
No. A jack is for lifting only. Support the vehicle on properly rated stands or the lift's own locks before anyone gets under it.
Does a scissor lift need installing?
Fixed and semi-fixed lifts have installation, power and inspection requirements. Check the data sheet, and call us if you need help with what to look at.
What does the creeper carry?
The Alemlube topside creeper is listed at 180 kg.
