Choosing disposable gloves

Nitrile

Every glove in this range is nitrile. Nitrile is latex-free, so it avoids the risk of latex allergy, and it generally resists oils and many chemicals better than vinyl. That is why it is the usual choice for workshops and trades.

Powder-free and textured

Powder-free gloves leave no powder residue on parts or surfaces. A textured finish improves grip on tools and components, and is useful when hands are oily or wet.

Thickness and feel

A thicker glove generally resists punctures and chemicals better, and a thinner glove gives better feel for fine work. Check the product page for thickness where it is listed.

Chemical work

A disposable glove protects against splashes and contamination, not long immersion or aggressive chemicals. For solvents, acids and heavier chemical work, check the glove’s chemical resistance data, or choose a chemical-resistant glove.

Always check the data sheet

Thickness, pack size, chemical resistance and the Australian Standard a glove is certified to differ between products. Confirm these on the product page, and ask us if you are unsure what suits your task.

Disposable glove FAQs

What are your disposable gloves made from?

All the gloves in this range are nitrile.

Why choose nitrile over latex or vinyl?

Nitrile is latex-free, so it avoids latex allergy, and it generally resists oils and many chemicals better than vinyl. It is the common default for workshops and trades.

What does powder-free mean?

The glove has no powder lining, so no powder residue is left on parts, surfaces or hands. The Bastion gloves here are powder-free.

Which glove gives the best feel for fine work?

Choose a lighter glove such as the Bastion Nitrile Soft Black for tasks that need feel, and a thicker glove where puncture and chemical resistance matter more.

Which glove has the best grip?

The Mack Traction gloves have a textured finish for grip on tools and components, and the Grippaz gloves are non-slip nitrile. The Bastion gloves are micro-textured.

Can I use disposable gloves for strong chemicals?

Disposable gloves protect against splashes and contamination, not long contact. For solvents, acids and heavier chemical work, check the chemical resistance data or choose a chemical-resistant glove.
