Draper makes hand tools, and AIMS Industrial supplies the pipe and conduit threading range we carry: BSPT thread chasers, metric conduit dies and die holders, ratchet action pipe threading kits and a ratcheting handle. Use a thread chaser to restore a damaged thread, and a die to cut a new thread.

Choosing a threading tool
First decide whether you are repairing a thread or cutting a new one. A thread chaser follows an existing thread and cleans it up, which suits a damaged or corroded pipe thread. A die cuts a new thread on bare pipe or conduit. Then match the thread standard: BSPT is the British pipe taper thread listed in inches, and the metric conduit tools are listed in M sizes. They are not interchangeable.
The ratchet action kits pair the cutting tools with a ratcheting handle so you can work where a full swing is not possible. Check the kit contents and the sizes it covers on the product page before ordering.
Always check the data sheet. Confirm the thread standard, sizes and what is included in each kit.

Draper FAQs
What is the difference between a thread chaser and a die?
A thread chaser follows and cleans up an existing thread, so it repairs rather than creates. A die cuts a new thread on bare pipe, rod or conduit.
What sizes of BSPT thread chaser do you have?
1/2, 3/4, 1 and 1-1/4 inch, with or without a holder/guide.
What conduit die sizes do you have?
M16, M20, M25 and M32, with matching metric die holders.
What is the difference between BSPT and metric threads?
BSPT is a tapered pipe thread sized in inches, and metric conduit threads are sized in M sizes. They use different thread forms and do not interchange, so match the tooling to your pipe or conduit.
What do the ratchet action kits include?
The metric kit is M4550001 and the BSPT kit is M4550002. Check each product page for the contents and the sizes covered before ordering.
