Choosing hearing protection
Start with how you work. Foam plugs are light, cheap and suit people who wear other PPE or work in warm conditions, and corded plugs are harder to lose. Metal detectable plugs suit food and similar sites that use metal detection. Earmuffs are quick to put on and take off, and are easier to check at a glance that they are being worn. Cap-mounted earmuffs clip to a hard hat so they are with you on site, and electronic earmuffs let you hear voices and warnings while still reducing harmful noise.
